Hydrometer for Omega Meter Contamination Measurement System
Picture shows the Hydrometer
Description
- NIST traceable
- Durable and accurate
Specific gravity is the ratio of the density (mass of a unit volume) of a substance to the density (mass of the same unit volume) of a reference substance. Specific gravity is commonly used in industry as a simple means of obtaining information about the concentration of solutions of various materials. Temperature is used along with Specific Gravity to calculate the %IPA in the OmegaMeter.
- Specific Gravity of water is 1.0
- Specific Gravity of 99% IPA is about 0.787 (at 20 C)
- Specific Gravity of 75%IPA-25%H20 is about 0.840 (at 20 C)
When you are trying to determine the %IPA of your Test Solution, you need to measure the Specific Gravity using a hydrometer and the Temperature using a thermometer of the Test Solution. It is these measurements that you type into the omegameter and the omegameter uses to calculate the percentage of IPA in the solution.
This Hydrometer features an allow shot and is durable, accurate and NIST traceable. The hydrometer is calibrated in a triple accredited ISO/IEC 17025:2005, A2LA accredited laboratory against equipment whose calibration is traceable to NIST.
This item is the hydrometer only. In order to use this, then you have to place the hydrometer inside the test cell, view the results, and then reach in and remove the hydrometer. Removing the the hydrometer from the test cell may not be so easy as some test cells are only 2" (50mm) wide. We also offer the Hydrometer with a Siphon Set which makes it much easier to take a measurement. Please take a look at the Hydrometer and Siphon Set as an alternative to this hydrometer only.
